Meet Dolly – Looking for a Retirement Home With Unlimited Love

Dolly is an 11-year-old English Bulldog who has been through more than any dog should ever have to endure. And while we don’t know much about the life she lived before coming into our rescue, one thing is painfully clear: this sweet girl has been uncomfortable for a very long time.

When Dolly came into our care, she had quite the list of medical concerns.

She was suffering from severe dry eye, which we are currently managing with daily eye medication. She also had significant infections in both ears that appeared to have gone untreated for quite some time.

As if that weren’t enough, Dolly also had mammary tumors that needed to be surgically removed, along with an open pyometra—a serious, potentially life-threatening infection of the uterus.

Thankfully, we were able to get her through surgery, remove her mammary tumors, and spay her.

Needless to say, Dolly has been through a lot!

And yet, here she is. Still fighting. Still giving life another chance.

Now, we’re looking for someone willing to give her a chance, too.

At 11 years old, with her medical history, we simply don’t know how much time Dolly has left. It could be weeks, months, or even years. We wish we had a crystal ball, but unfortunately, we don’t.

What we do know is that however much time she has left, she deserves to spend every single day feeling safe, comfortable, and loved.

We’re looking for a very special family who understands that adopting a senior dog like Dolly isn’t necessarily about how many years you’ll have together.

It’s about what you do with the time you’re given.

We’re talking about a retirement home with soft beds, plenty of affection, excellent snacks (bulldog-approved, of course), and humans who are willing to keep up with her medical needs.

A home where Dolly doesn’t have to worry about anything other than which comfortable spot she’d like to occupy next.

We understand that opening your heart to an elderly dog with an uncertain future isn’t what most people envision when they think about adoption.

There may be additional veterinary appointments, medications, and difficult decisions down the road.

And yes, there is the possibility of having to say goodbye much sooner than you’d like.

But sometimes, the dogs we have for the shortest amount of time leave the biggest footprints on our hearts.

There is something incredibly special about giving an older animal the opportunity to experience love and comfort in the final chapter of their life.

You may not get a lifetime with Dolly.

But you could give Dolly the best part of hers.

And to us, that’s a pretty extraordinary gift.

If you have room in your home and your heart for this special senior girl, please fill out an adoption application. We’d love to schedule a phone call, discuss her medical history and ongoing needs, and see if you might be the family she’s been waiting for.

PLEASE NOTE: We do not ship dogs out of state. If you live outside the Dallas–Fort Worth area, you must be willing to travel to Dallas to meet Dolly in person and, if everything goes well, bring her home with you. Our priority is finding her a loving, comfortable home where she can enjoy whatever time she has left surrounded by the care she deserves.
