Loretta is a 10-year-old Visla who came out of the shelter with multiple masses, including one on the tip of her tail that was about the size of a softball. Masses that size don’t develop overnight, which means this sweet old girl was uncomfortable for a very long time.

You always hold your breath a little when putting a senior dog through surgery like that, but Loretta powered through like a spring chicken. She recovered incredibly well and has since become one feisty grandma who has shown she still has plenty of gas left in the tank and plenty of love to give to a family of her own.

Loretta loves people and forms very strong bonds with her humans. She has a great balance of energy and also enjoys cuddling on the couch. When it comes to other dogs, she’s fairly indifferent and definitely prefers people over playtime, but she has shown she can comfortably share space with mellow dogs.

Loretta would do best in a home as the only dog or with other laid-back dogs that don’t want to play all day.
